From: camelot66 Date: November 22, 2006 at 12:50 I am a big Fan of this Band.
Since then, Alien released three more albums, Best and Rare 1997, compilation , Live in Stockholm 1990 2001 and Dark Eyes 2005. The pair formed the band on 18 December 2010, when they were aged 10 and 8 respectively. In 1990 the band also made other changes, such as replacing Wandroph and Tarrach with Bert Andersson on keyboards and Imre Duan on drums. Therefore a strong performance indeed. There is another name to add to that list of bands: Alien Weaponry.
So many great songs, remember Brave New Love from the movie - The Blob remake. Together with Europe,Da Vinci,Glory,Dalton,Treat,Bad Habit and Talk Of The Town they lead the world melodic hard rock scene. Overall not a horrible album but just not enough meat and potatoes to add enough calories for a satisfying meal. I give it 10 out of 10. This is truly a 21st century band. From: NightCrawler Date: April 28, 2004 at 3:42 Still trying to lay my hands on it!! Do yourself a favour and buy Live in Stockholm from 1990. Great guitar work, superb keys and incredible voice.
And really, brutal but melodic is the prevailing theme for this entire album. So his music subsequently should influence a lot of bands, even not exclusively coming from the space rock department. Well, of course Blaise Slwula gets the praise here. What a great solo by Tony Borg. The music is clearly digging into the sounds of yesteryear with the main focus on a loungy style of jazz but there is plenty of rockabilly and piano jazz as well. With deep respect I'm going to take a share now while writing this review. There were lot's of those bands in the middle of 80's with big poodle hairs and did always had a keyboardist in the band.
Dying By the Golden Rule 3:49 10. From: Peter Date: March 22, 2004 at 19:15 It's hard to find it. Rob Alfonso is not present on every song with his guitar, but when he's on the table it's an irresistible mix of space and fusion. Feel My Love 3:46 7. Tears Don't Put Out the Fire 4:09 3.
The band is in excellent mood here, great interaction, while I'm quite sure, this recordings are not reworked, polished or whatsoever. And finally it gets clearer that this often enough flirts with Soft Machine - obvious when coming to the excellent jam Soft Martian. My God what would happen if Sandberg had sung on this Album as well. Ridderstrale, although performing on tour, did not participate in the recording sessions and Michael Wilkman stood in as drummer. I have the Eu version. This album included eight out of the twelve tracks released in the 1988 album, 5 of which were remixed. The rest is simply stellar. I personally find this whole affair to be a noble effort but frankly it pales in comparison to the much better contemporary bands going for this retro sound such as Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and the masters of all things swing revival the Squirrel Nut Zippers. They added bass player Ethan Trembath the same age as Lewis to the line-up.
Finally, lead singer Peter Sandberg departed the band and later pursued a solo career. Right… Get all this straight in your head, and a lot of the songs here start to make more sense. Andersson was replaced by Richard Andre on keyboards and Stefan Ridderstrale replaced Duan on drums. Alien Vampires albums Alien Vampires stand for a sound where harsh industrial, pure electronics and obscure black metal atmospheres combine to form evil, electronic body music. This new formation released the band's fifth album, Crash in 1995. Production is the weakest point. From: iacob cristian Date: February 15, 2005 at 11:28 All that i can say is that this band is monumental! Posted Monday, May 4, 2009 Review 213754.
Andersson was replaced by on keyboards and Stefan Ridderstrale replaced Duan on drums. All in all the songs hold a lush sound, a striking dramaturgy. With free jazz saxophone squeaks, aggressive bass lines reminiscent of Magma and spacey keyboard effects that we expect from Hawkwind and Gong this album is a delight to any fan of psychedelic music. Songs like 'Wings of Fire' and 'Tears don't put up the fire' just put them at the same level if not better as Da Vinci, Treat, Europe. I find the vocals a little lackluster and devoid of the passionate delivery the well played music is demanding.
This is a must have!!! All the songs are magical, mind-blowing and monumental. Former Madison bassist Conny Payne also joined Alien in 1993. Strangely the original demos of some of the songs here are incredibly superior to these supposedly 'highly pollished' versions. Thrash metal is far from dead, and has a bright future. Production was weak and the band lost much of its following.
